Well…August was a trip! As a woman, having to constantly remind myself of the atrocities that we experience on a daily basis…this was one of the hardest things I have had to put myself through.
I have so much respect for NPO’s, who dedicate their time to trying to fight the good fight and tackle issues that plague our Country. It is not easy to disassociate yourself from the harsh realities. It creeps in…the fear of it all. It makes its way into your daily life and it can be paralyzing at times!
Truthfully, the campaign didn’t do nearly as well as I was hoping. I have come to realize that “ignorance is bliss” and so many people are reluctant to get involved with these campaigns. That is absolutely ok because it is a personal choice. However, it certainly leaves you feeling despondent and wondering how we can ever resolve these issues.
I will say that the most important thing I have learned…rely on your community! There is nothing better than getting support (no matter how small) from likeminded individuals. We may be a small percentage of people who are willing to fight the good fight…rather small than nothing! Casting that stone on the waters 😉
August may be done…but we are certainly not done with our campaign. Keep an eye out for the next one.
